GCC's Child Care Solution group is working towards finding intuitive ideas for the child care crisis and focuses on developing innovative and effective strategies to make child care more accessible, affordable, and high-quality. This group collaborates with stakeholders, including parents, businesses, and policymakers, to create solutions that enable parents to work, thereby supporting economic development.

This team includes representatives from different sectors and organizations who work together to identify challenges, share resources, and develop coordinated strategies to improve overall community well-being and support vulnerable populations.
Thriving Families, Safer Children
Tri-State Support
A Thriving Families, Safer Children team is a multidisciplinary group that meets monthly to enhance the safety, stability, and well-being of children and families. The team includes representatives from child welfare, social services, healthcare, education, and community organizations. They collaborate to identify and address challenges, share best practices, and implement strategies aimed at preventing child abuse and neglect, promoting family resilience, and ensuring a supportive and nurturing environment for children.

MONTHLY GCC MEETINGS
Family Education
Tri-State Support
GCC offers a variety of family education initiatives designed to support and strengthen families. Our Family Cafes provide a welcoming space for parents to connect, share experiences, and learn from each other. Parents Interacting with Infants and Toddlers (PIWI) sessions focus on enhancing parent-child interactions and fostering early development. Circle of Security Training helps parents understand their children's emotional needs and build secure relationships. Positive Solutions for Families equips parents with practical strategies to promote positive behavior and emotional well-being in their children. These programs are designed to empower families with the knowledge and skills to thrive together.
Monthly GCC Meetings
Tri-State Support
GCC hosts monthly meetings attended by approximately 130 individuals. These meetings, rooted in the collective impact model, feature presentations from organizations in the Siouxland area, showcasing the services they offer to the community. Participants can share resources, events, and introductions during designated shout-out times. Each meeting concludes with "birds of a feather" breakout rooms, allowing attendees to ask presenters additional questions or connect with other partners. While most meetings occur via Zoom, GCC also holds two in-person meetings annually to facilitate face-to-face networking among partners.
