Growing community Connections is proud to continue the legacy of the Sioux City Mayor’s Youth Commission and the Sioux City Young Ambassadors, formerly led by Siouxland CARES.  These programs provide leadership, service and civic engagement opportunities for local youth, empowering them to make a positive impact in Sioux City.

Sioux City Mayor’s Youth Commission

The Sioux City Mayor’s Youth Commission is a platform for high school students to develop leadership skills, advocate for youth issues, and collaborate with city leaders.  Members engage in community service, organize events, and provide a youth perspective on local initiatives.  The Sioux City Mayor’s Youth Commission serves as mentors to the Sioux City Young Ambassadors.

 

Sioux City Young Ambassadors

The Sioux City Young Ambassadors program recognizes outstanding youth who represent Sioux City in a positive way.  Young Ambassadors participate in service projects and promote civic engagement among their peers.  The Young Ambassadors are mentored by the Sioux City Mayor’s Youth Commission
